Russell Budd ’79 was named one of the Best Personal Injury Attorneys in Dallas by Forbes Advisor.

The Hon. Peter Sakai ’79, formerly a state district judge, was sworn in as Bexar County judge.

Oliver Luck ’87 was named executive director of the ASUN-WAC Football Conference, a new NCAA Division I conference.

Bradley Cole ’88 was added as a partner to Thompson Coe’s Insurance Coverage section.

Jennifer Haltom Doan ’89 was named one of the Best Personal Injury Attorneys in Dallas by Forbes Advisor.

Cindi Graham ’89 was named chair of the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Stephen Crain ’90 was elected to serve a three-year term on Bracewell’s Management Committee.

Kevin R.C. Gutzman ’90 has published a new book, “The Jeffersonians,” about the presidential administrations of Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and James Monroe.

Stephen Fernelius ’91 has joined Bradley Arant Bouly Cummings LLP as a partner specializing in energy litigation.

David Peavler ’92 has joined Jones Day as a partner in its Securities Litigation and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s enforcement practice.

Robert Crain ’94 was named one of the Best Personal Injury Attorneys in Dallas by Forbes Advisor.

Ryan Holcomb ’94 was elected to serve a three-year term on Bracewell’s Management Committee.

Anne Johnson ’95 was named one of the Best Personal Injury Attorneys in Dallas by Forbes Advisor.

Mark Flores ’99, was elevated to shareholder in the Dallas office of Littler.

Jon Hyland ’04 honored by the “Best Lawyers in America” publication for 2023 for his work in intellectual property litigation.

William G. Hagans ’06 of Hagans Montgomery Hagans has become board certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in the area of Personal Injury Trial Law.

Rudy Metayer ’06 was awarded the Outstanding Community Service Award by the Austin branch of the NAACP.

Brooke Lierman ’08 was sworn in as Maryland’s comptroller, becoming the first woman to be independently elected to any state government office in the state.

Anthony Baca ’09 was appointed by Colorado Governor Jared Polis to the La Planta County Court.

James Leech ’09 was selected as managing attorney at Cesar Ornelas in San Antonio.

Jingli Jiang ’10 was promoted to partner at Akin Gump, focusing on international trade and transactional areas.

Orlando “Jay” Juarez ’10 was promoted to partner with McCall Parkhurst & Horton.

Isaac V. Sulemana ’11 was appointed city attorney for the city of La Joya, Texas.

Michael Fishel ’12 was added as a partner in King & Spalding’s Corporate, Finance and Investments practice group in Houston.

Monica Gaudioso ’13 was promoted to partner at Carrington Coleman.

Nikki Hill ’13 was promoted to partner with McCall Parkhurst & Horton.

Grant Schmidt ’13 was named to D Magazine’s list of the “Best Lawyers Under 40” for the fourth consecutive year.
