The Hon. Lee Yeakel ’69, after serving for 20 years as a federal judge for the Western District of Texas, has retired from the bench and joined King & Spalding's Trials and Global Disputes practice group as senior counsel.
 
Thomas Harkness ’71 was named a Best Personal Injury Lawyer in Austin by Forbes Advisor. 

Michael Appleton ’72 was recognized as a 50-Year Member of the Florida Bar. 

Fred Hagans ’72 was selected as a recipient of the 2023 Texas Bar Foundation's Outstanding 50-Year Lawyer Award. 

David Powell ’72 was recognized as a 50-Year Member of the Florida Bar. 

Jesse Pierce ’74 received his 15th consecutive selection to the Chambers USA legal directory for his work in commercial litigation and oil and gas expertise. 

Judy Kostura ’80 was named a Best Personal Injury Lawyer in Austin by Forbes Advisor. 

Jay Howard ’82 received the 2023 Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Kansas School of Business. 

Michael Slack ’83 was appointed to the external advisory board of the Hagler Institute for Advanced Study at Texas A&M University and has been named the 2023 Distinguished Aggie Lawyer. 

Peter Moir ’85 joined Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP as a toxic torts litigation partner. 

Betty Balli Torres ‘85 was awarded the Emily C. Jones Lifetime Achievement Award by the Texas Access to Justice Commission. 

Robert Alden ’87 was named a Best Personal Injury Lawyer in Austin by Forbes Advisor. 

Gregory Clark ’89 joined Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP as a senior attorney in the firm’s Construction Practice Group. 

Martin Schexnayder ’91 joined Freeman Mathis & Gary LLP as the new chair of its Houston office. 

Katie Carmona ’93 joined Jackson Walker as a senior counsel in the firm's Trial & Appellate Litigation practice in Austin.
